The Interdictor carries exactly half the firepower of a regular Majestic-class warship, its shields are somewhat weaker than a regular cruiser's, and the bulge of the gravity well generator is a structural weakness on its hull. It is built on the same frame as the Majestic-class cruiser, which forms the backbone of the Galactic Alliance Defense Force, but is substantially less powerful in nearly every way.
The Interdictor-class Cruiser is a ship designed almost solely to perform interdiction duties.
